You Are Called By God

Jeremiah 1:4-5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.  ~NKJV

God has a plan for your life, but it is up to you to accept it and act upon your calling.  Everyone’s calling is different, but everyone is called to do something for the Kingdome of God.  What were you called to do and what are you doing to fulfill that calling.  If you don’t know what your calling is; what are you doing to find your calling?

God Is Our Guide

Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by theLORD,And He delights in his way.

Psalms119:133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Colossians 3:23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lordand not to men

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (kjv)

In your life’s journey reaching for success it is imperative that you allow God to guide you in all of your decisions and not to let sin/iniquity have control over you.  (The definition of sin is “to miss the mark.”) Missing the target of what God has for your life.  To know what God has for you and what he wants for you, you must know Him/His word.

It is our responsibility to study and know the word of God.  This is notjust to be able to quote scriptures, but to be able to apply what you know, {wisdom (James 1:5)} living in harmony with the word of God. The word of God is our guide to happiness and success.

The word of God teaches us the laws/principles of every aspect of life. It teaches us about, school/learning, mentorship, relationships, money, happiness, business, love, anger, hate, good and bad habits, about ourselves…  Anything you need to know, it is in the Bible/Gods Word.

Like the song says…

Order my steps in Your word dear Lord,

lead me, guide me everyday,

send Your anointing, Father I pray…

Humbly, I ask Thee to teach me Your will,

while You are working, help me be still…

Bridle my tongue let my words edify,

let the words of my mouth be exceptable in Thysight,

take charge of my thoughts both day and night…

I want to walk worthy,

my calling to fulfill.

Please order my steps Lord,

and I’ll do Your blessed will.

The world is ever changing,

but You are still the same;

if You order my steps, I’ll praise Your name.

Order my steps in Your word.

Order my tongue in Your word.

Guide my feet in Your word.

Wash my heart in Your word.

Show me how to walk in Your word.

Show me how to talk in Your word.

When I need a brand new song to sing,

show me how to let Your praises ring,

God’s Manual For Your Life

2 Tim 3:16  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,~~NKJV

No matter what you might be going through there is scripture to help you.  The bible is God’s manual for every aspect of our lives.  It is there to show us how to have a relationship with Jesus, show us how to live our lives happily and to the fullest.

The Bible is a practical book that we should go to for all direction in life.  Before you make your next major decision find out what the Bible says you should do in that situation.  Don’t make your decisions on how you feel, but on what you know to be right.  If you make your decisions by what you know to be right and not on your feeling or emotions you will make far better choices in life therefore you will have a better life.

Christian: Bing Like Christ

Acts 11:26 …So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.  ~NKJV

The word “Christian” means: Like Christ.

More than likely you consider yourself a Christian being that you are reading this Christian devotional blog, but the hard question to ask yourself is “do others say that you are like Christ?”

So many people call them self a Christian, but a true Christian does not have to call him or herself a Christian. Others will see how you live your life, how you act and they will say you are like Christ or call you a Christian.  As you see in Acts 11:26 the disciples did not call themselves Christians or “Like Christ” others look at them and said they are like Christ.

It’s Monday and we are starting a new week.  So my challenge to you this week is to be more like Christ. Live your life in such a way where others will say, “He or she is a real Christian.”

My wife Jenny and I ate breakfast at a restaurant a few months ago where the owner came by our table and stuck up a conversation about life and proceeded to tell us that he was fighting cancer. He said that in the past month, many of his friends had died or have contracted a disease. The conversation was filled with BAD news.  I walked out of that restaurant telling my wife how the man desperately needed to get around some GOOD news to lift his spirits. Jesus called his message of salvation to people the GOSPEL which is defined as GOOD NEWS. If you ever get around Jesus, his Bible or real faith believers, you will hear the GOOD NEWS.  Let me encourage you to make sure you feed yourself with good news.  Get around the kind of Christians that will talk about something GOOD, not negative noise.  Your health, your soul and your eternity may depend on it.

We All Have Different Gifts

Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them:…  ~NKJV  (Read Rom 12:3-8)

It is important for us to understand that each of us has different gifts, and it is important that we use well the gifts God has given to us.  Each of us has different talents, interests and abilities. Not all of us can be teachers. Who would feed or clothe us? Whom would we teach? Not all of us can be farmers. Who would bandage our wounds when we are hurt? Our world functions as smoothly as it does because God has gifted us in unique ways.

Each of us has a different spiritual gift. When we all use our gifts as God intends, then the world is blessed and our own lives are enriched.

Great leaders know this to be true, we must use the gifts God has given us and let others use their gifts. Grady Wilson for years handled evangelist Billy Graham’s business affairs. We are told that some time back Wilson was faced with a decision about whether to move the Billy Graham organization to larger quarters. Unable to arrive at a decision, he called Dr. Graham for advice. Graham answered kindly but firmly. “I don’t call you and ask you what I should preach,” he said. “Don’t call me about what you should do with buildings.”

One of the secrets of Billy Graham’s success has been in locating people with gifts and entrusting them to use those gifts. Each of us has different gifts.

The key to successful living is not to grieve over the gifts we do not have, but to take those we do have and use them in honoring God.

What is your gift and how will you use it to serve the Kingdom of God today?

Optimism is essential to achievment and it is also the foundation of courage and true progress
